We provide an applied approach to training and development programs to enhance the mental fitness and resilience of individuals, families, communities, governments, private sector organisations and educational institutions.

Applied Education & Training is proud to be the only organisation that will offer the 10936NAT Diploma of Mental Fitness and Resilience. The 24-month part-time program provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to build mental fitness and resilience in organisations, teams and individuals. Learners will also develop the skills to lead people to improve mental health and enable optimal functioning. The training will be delivered through live virtual classroom learning activities, the application of practical skills, and assessments reflecting real-world contexts.

About the Opportunity

Applied Education & Training is seeking VET qualified Trainers and Assessors to provide high-quality, professional training and assessment services to build the capabilities of our learners participating in the Diploma of Mental Fitness and Resilience commencing later this year.

As our Trainer or Assessor, you will deliver outstanding, high-quality industry-relevant training and assessment to our learners in line with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and other regulatory requirements. You will also serve as a subject matter expert in wellbeing/positive psychology/mental fitness and resilience to help learners apply their knowledge and skills at work and in life.

We are seeking both qualified Trainers and Assessors. For the upcoming cohorts, trainers will deliver one session per week (3.5 hours) for 24 months, excluding holiday breaks. Assessors may create their own flexible schedules. Assessors will be required to conduct various assessment activities in a timely manner, including online role-plays with students. No travel is required for Trainers or Assessors. If you are interested in only training or assessing, please indicate your preference in the online application.

What you will do as an Assessor or Trainer:

Provide subject matter expertise in the science of wellbeing and share your knowledge with learners and colleaguesContribute to course facilitation, pre-course preparation and post-course activitiesParticipate in the development, preparation, validation and moderation of training and assessment activities and materials Deliver outstanding training and/or assessment that is of high quality, engaging, and industry current in a live virtual online classroom environmentProvide an outstanding learning environment that is supportive and culturally responsive that enables successful outcomes for learnersConduct assessments in accordance with regulatory requirements Observe and monitor student training and assessment progression, provide regular, meaningful feedback to your colleagues and Applied Education & Training Management TeamMeet regularly via video conference with the Applied Education & Training team to share progress, discuss milestones and outcomes, and seek resources and supportContribute to continuous improvement activitiesEnsure all administrative functions of the role are completed in a timely mannerEffectively utilise online platforms, including Canvas and ZoomParticipate in the development, preparation, validation and moderation of training and assessment activities and materials Maintain required VET training and assessment credentials, participate in internal and external professional development Adhere to all compliance policies, procedures, and regulationsOther tasks and responsibilities as required.

Your Expertise

Applied Education & Training is seeking individuals who are both passionate and experienced in applying the science of wellbeing across diverse contexts. Applied Education & Training Trainers and Assessors must demonstrate that they have the required workplace skills and experience to train students confidently and competently, as required in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015. To satisfy this role you must have knowledge and vocational experience in one or more learning clusters:

Mental Fitness and Resilience for Individuals:

Providing early intervention, health prevention and promotion programsSupporting people to improve relationshipsDeveloping plans to improve individual wellbeing and resilience

Mental Fitness and Resilience for Teams:

Applying positive leadership and positive psychology principles in workplaces Providing workplace coaching

Change Management for Mental Fitness and Resilience:

Manage and facilitate changeApply Appreciative Inquiry methodology

Mental Fitness and Resilience for Organisations:

Utilising Program Logic Models for mental health and wellbeing programsResearching and applying evidence to practiceImplementing wellbeing strategy at the organisational level

Qualifications

All trainers and assessors must have the proper qualifications for RTO trainers or assessors. This may be a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a Diploma or higher in Adult Education such as:

Associate Degree in Vocational Education and TrainingBachelor of Adult and Vocational EducationGraduate Diploma in Adult and Vocational Education and TrainingGraduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and NumeracyMaster of Education degree with an adult education focus

If you have professional experience and education in organisational development, psychology, public health, HR, coaching, change management, or wellbeing leadership, you may be well suited for a role with Applied Education & Training.
